Another great show!
I thought I would never see them again, but a few years ago, I went to the Stefan Hillesheim Zimbabwe Tour in MSG. Naturally, when I heard about this tour and the new music, I was excited to say the least. This show was amazing, unlike any other concert I have ever been to. People were dancing, walking around, sitting on blankets, and just having a great time. Dispatch fans are pleasant and easy-going, making for a great ambiance.
At the Red Bull Arena that night, it was obvious to anyone and everyone that Dispatch holds a tight grip on their fans. They played just about every song in their catalogue, and everyone sang every word. During "Flying Horses," they would slow the tempo for the hook and sang it like a ballad, while the audience swayed and softly sang like a love song. Then, during the verses, they picked up the beat, and everyone started jumping and screaming and thrashing like it was a rave. Only Dispatch can do this!
After the show, the crowd "Ole"d for ten minutes until they came back on and sang songs from their first album from the rafters. Then, they each hooked up to a zip line and played guitar and/or sang on their way down over top the crowd. It was the closest thing someone of my generation will ever get to Woodstock, and it was great. Truly an amazing experience.
